jacumba, ca
october 11-13, 2026
for the: wild woman
Our desert oasis overlooks the U.S.-Mexico border - a symbolic space to study the Wild Woman archetype. Like the wind turbines spinning in the background, we, too, will harness the wind-spirit that can’t be tamed. Can’t be owned. And reconnect to the sacred womb-space by soaking in the healing waters of Jacumba. Our yoga practice will be gentle and support the theme of our conversations: Women Who Run With the Wolves. It’s a deep soul dive in the California desert, intended to refresh the way we think and empower the way we move. Vive la résistance.
RETREAT INTENTION: liberation
PRIMARY CHAKRAs: sacral + heart
Natural Elements: Water + Air
two (2) nights accommodation
Our 100-year-old cobblestone lodge blends into the rugged desert backdrop. A five-minute walk to the mineral springs of Jacumba, this remote retreat offers a quiet space with plenty of breathing room. Plus, it’s just one hour from San Diego, making it a low-stakes escape.
Six (6) balanced meals
We will enjoy a few healthy meals at the property to nourish the yoga practice. And indulge poolside with some locally-inspired dishes. Wear your desert-best for a Saturday night-out. *Disposable film cameras included.*
THREE (3) DAY ALL-ACCESS PASS TO THE MINERAL POOLS
You’ll have access to the mineral pools all day Sunday-Tuesday.
We will meet for lunch at the pools on Sunday, before checking into our lodge @ 4pm (you can arrive earlier if you’d like!). Saturday will feature some healing soaks, including time at Jacumba Lake. And we will bookend the retreat with down-time at Jacumba Hot Springs… so you can hit the road whenever you please on Tuesday.
women who run with the wolves book club
The foundation for our retreat, this chilling book is a feast-for-thought. Dense with wisdom, we will break up our reflections and conversations in chunks throughout the retreat. You do NOT need to read the book to participate in the activities. I will send each of you a copy of the book upon sign-up, for those who are interested in reading.
Morning Yoga PRactices + desert meditations
The highlight of this retreat is definitely the Book Club. So we will feature a more supportive yoga practice in the background - soft, slow, and embodied. Bring your yoga mats and prepare to get a tad earthy. We’re getting amongst it in the best way.

common questions
Q: Why is this retreat only 2 nights?
A: With full-day access to the hot springs on the bookends, we were able to make the time commitment + cost more accessible, without skimping on experience. It’s also our closest retreat to home, making it an easy trip back to our own beds. With the lower night-count, we shaved off $250-700 dollars from years previous that were a tad longer.
Q: What minerals are found in natural hot springs?
A: Sodium, Manganese, Lithium, Chloride, Silica, and Hydrogen Sulfide. This combination of minerals offers a variety of benefits, including anti-inflammatory properties for muscles + joints, wound + skin healing, antioxidant benefits, stress reduction, and collagen production.
Q: Do I need to drive?
A: Yes, on Saturday night, we will take a couple of cars for a two-minute drive to the restaurant and back. Thanks in advance for helping with that!
Q: Do I need to read the whole book?
A: You don’t have to read any of it, if you prefer not to. I’ll try to offer a synopsis where relevant. But most of our conversations will be bigger picture, inspired by the author’s commentaries. I do LOVE the introduction to this book though, so maybe commit to those first few pages, if you can.
Q: What time is check-in and check-out?
A: We can check into the lodge at 4pm on Sunday and check-out will be 11am. Lucky us, we get to linger at the natural pools on the bookends, if you’re interested in extending your time in the desert.
Q: What will the weather be like?
A: October is my favorite month in the desert. It’s hot during the day and cold at night. Bring beanies and bikinis - the best duo.
