5 ways yoga makes us more financially free

While my life is rather humble, I rarely stress about money. When people ask me how I travel the world and still live within my means, I accredit financial stability + abundance to my yoga practice.

Here are the 5 ways yoga makes us more financially free:

  1. Wholeness:

Through our yoga practice, we experience the expansiveness of our being. When we realize how abundant we already are, we don’t feel compelled to look outside of ourselves for fulfillment. This means less stuff and non-attachment to the money-draining things that clutter our lives.

  2. Taking What We Need:

The more we practice yoga, the more connected we become to our planet and our neighbors. This sense of oneness teaches us to take only what we need - a philosophy that carries into the way we grocery shop and prepare food, the land and space we take for our homes, and carbon footprint we leave behind. By taking only what we use, we spend only what we need to.

  3. Knowing Our Worth:

Yoga teaches us that we are not greater or lesser than anyone else, but that each of us has unique skills, strengths, and priorities. By honoring the unique value we bring to the table, it makes it easier to ask for proper compensation from employers + clients. From there, constantly express gratitude for the exchange of energy and work hard to evolve + continue to climb the pay scale.

  4. Law of Attraction:

If you believe in the Law of Attraction, you know that the vibration you put out into the universe is the vibration you get back. And the easiest way to achieve a high vibration is to release the stressors + mindsets weighing you down. Through yoga + meditation, we restore our state of peace, staying in the flow of abundant giving + receiving.

  5. Investing in Ourselves:

Expansive opportunities come to those with expansive energy + experience. So take care of yourself through yoga (and other wellness practices) and follow the things that excite you. Invest money in the callings of your soul and watch it come back tenfold. When it comes to big purchases, my rule of thumb is, “If it’s going to propel you forward, do it. If it’s going to set you back, don’t do it.”

Sometimes the biggest shift in your bank account begins with a shift in energy. Spend wisely, give freely, and remember this: your joie de vivre is the most priceless addition to any resume.

Jax
